My love for good food has been heavily influenced by my unique upbringing. I have been very privileged to have played a supporting role in the U.S. Armed Forces; I am a BRAT. Both my father and husband had long and distinguished careers in the U.S. Air Force that have taken me to some amazing locations domestically and abroad. Within the mainland United States I have lived in California, Maryland, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, and Texas. Abroad, I have lived in Hawaii, Guam, England, Germany, South Korea, and Japan. I was living in Atlanta, Georgia for six years. Now I split my time between Seattle, Washington and the San Francisco Bay Area. If you add the experiences from living in the past and current locales, with the cultural influences from a South Korean mother, father of Ukrainian, Scottish, and Irish descent, and a husband of Norwegian descent, I can safely say that I am gastronomically promiscuous. Yes, I have “been around the food block”.
